Lung Transplantation

The Lung Transplant Program at the University of Pennsylvania is one of the oldest and most experienced programs in the country. Since its inception in 1991 by Dr. Larry Kaiser, the program has established itself as the premier lung transplant center in the region and one of the most active in the world. It is now directed by Dr. Alberto Pochettino and over 450 lung transplant procedures have been performed. More importantly, outcomes have consistently equaled or exceeded national averages.
