Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit
The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Pennsylvania
Hospital — an 18-bed unit — is an
inpatient facility designed to meet the special
physical and cognitive rehabilitative needs of
individuals who have experienced a disabling
injury, illness, or surgery. Our goal is to return
patients to a functional level that enables them
to return home as quickly as possible. Advanced
treatment programs are offered for medical conditions
including, but not limited to:
- stroke
- hip fractures
- arthritis
- amputation
- neurologic disorders
- general orthopaedics
Our rehabilitation program
helps patients with:
- physical impairment that limits functional
ability
- a need for assistance in performing
daily living functions
- medical complications
which cause a significant decline in physical
function
- a disability of recent onset or recent
progression
