Message From the Administrator
Greetings and welcome to the Winter 2007 edition of “Together
We Can,” the newsletter of the Joan Karnell Cancer Center at
Pennsylvania Hospital. In this issue, we focus on cancer prevention
and early detection.
Cancer prevention is one of the core missions
of the Cancer Center, along with diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
To further this mission, we offer cancer screenings and community
education programs throughout the year. Our physicians and staff
participate in health fairs, community lectures, and advocacy
programs in the cancer community.
This issue of the newsletter contains information
on cancer screenings and early detection for all ages. There are many
resources on the Internet that provide information on cancer screening
and early detection.

prevented through lifestyle changes or detection
and treatment in their early stages.
We hope that you will be inspired to seek more information

difference in preventing and decreasing the risk of cancer.
Sincerely,
Mary Pat Lynch, CRNP, MSN, AOCN
