provide care for patients with fibroids. Family
Practioners may also diagnose this condition and
provide initial care. Reproductive endocrinologists
have a role in helping patients with fibroids
who are experiencing problems with infertility.
Urologists may be consulted if the fibroid is
causing urinary difficulties. An interventional
radiologist may perform a new procedure called
uterine artery embolization.
