The Neuro Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate
Neurologic Intensive Care Unit are both equipped
with the most up-to-date technology and staffed
by a team of specialists from neurosurgery, neurology,
neuroanesthesia, critical care medicine and supported
by dedicated neurocritical care nurses.
We treat all neurologic diseases, including:
- Head injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Subarachnoid hemorrhage
- Stroke
- Intracerebral hemorrhage
- Myasthenia gravis
- Guillain-Barre syndrome
- Meningitis
- Encephalitis
- Status epilepticus
- Brain tumors
The Neuro Intensive Care Unit is internationally
recognized for the state-of-the-art management
strategies and monitoring techniques to facilitate
patient care. Ongoing research led by Peter
LeRoux, MD, Associate Professor and Vice Chairman
of Neurosurgery and Eileen Maloney, RN, Director
of Neurosurgery Clinical Research Division, have
demonstrated the use of these new ICU methods
and are associated with improved patient outcomes.
