Clinical Trials and Research
Clinical Trials
Patients at the Neurovascular Center have an
opportunity to participate in clinical trials evaluating
the very latest drugs and devices that may help
their condition.
There are several ongoing trials in cerebrovascular
disease, led by M.
Sean Grady, MD, Peter
LeRoux, MD, Eileen Maloney-Wilensky, RN,
including:
- International Unruptured Aneurysm Trial
- Carotid stenosis stent trial
- Brain oxygen monitoring outcome study
Research
Research is an integral and important mission of the Neurovascular Center. Physicians,
scientists, engineers, and computer scientists from many specialties actively
pursue the cause and treatment of neurovascular disorders.
Disorders treated include:
- Aneurysms
- Arteriorenous malformations of the brain
and spinal cord
- Cavernomas
- Dural fistulas
- Stroke and TIA’s
- Positional cerebrovascular ischemia
- Cerebrovascular insufficiency
- Intra- and Extra-Cranial occusive vascular
disease
- Carotid-cavernous fistulas
- Bypass basilar and revascularization vertebral
