Y.K. Lee, MD, joins the Department of Neurosurgery
as Assistant Professor. His practice focuses
on functional neurosurgery and Gamma Knife
radiosurgery. He has expertise in the surgical
treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's
disease, essential tremor and dystonia.
Dr.
Lee has a focused interest in the treatment
of pain syndromes, especially trigeminal neuralgia,
central pain and complex structural spine pain.
In addition, he has specialized experience
in the use of the Gamma Knife to treat brain
tumors, vascular malformations and functional
disorders.
Dr. Lee attended Yale University where he graduated
magna cumlaude in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry.
He received his medical degree from UMDNJ - Robert
Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was elected
to Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Lee completed his residency
training in neurological surgery at the University
of Pittsburgh, where he also served as chief
resident. He completed a fellowship in functional
neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic before joining
the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Dr. Lee is board eligible by the American Board
of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Lee will see patients
at the Pennsylvania Hospital. Appointments for
