Penn Physicians Honored by Philadelphia Magazine’s “Top Doctors” 2008
 The University of Pennsylvania Health System congratulates our 134 physicians recognized as the region’s best doctors in Philadelphia Magazine’s 2008 “Top Docs” list. Featuring more Penn physicians than any other hospital or health system in the region, the survey selects the region’s most respected doctors who excel in academic medicine and research and demonstrate excellence in patient care.
Nominated by leading doctors, specialists, chiefs of service and healthcare executives, the “Top Docs” survey ranks 366 of the best local doctors in 55 different specialties. Nominees are judged on various criteria, including education, experience, disciplinary history and professional reputation. This year, Penn physicians account for over one-third of the prestigious list.
This regional recognition echoes the national recognition our doctors and hospitals receive each year in U.S.News and World Report, America's Top Doctors and Best Doctors in America.
