Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Ranked 10th in Nation

U.S. News and World ReportsThe Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) has been ranked as one of the top 10 hospitals in the United States by U.S.News & World Report, as featured in its August 21st issue. The publication's prestigious annual "Honor Roll" of best hospitals in America places HUP as one of only 19 hospitals chosen from the approximately 5,400 facilities surveyed in 16 specialties and the only hospital in the Philadelphia area to achieve the ranking.

The survey evaluated hospitals in 16 adult medical specialties, and HUP ranked in the top 10 in five specialty categories and in the top 20 in 10 specialty categories.

Although it can appear at any age, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) most commonly begins between the ages of 20 and 40 and affects more women than men, at an approximate ratio of two to one.
