Learn About Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic disease affecting more than six percent of the U.S. population or 21 million Americans. Another 53 million people have pre-diabetes and are at risk of developing the disease. Diabetes is linked to heart and kidney disease, strokes and other serious health problems.

Although there is no cure for diabetes, it can be controlled. People of all ages live healthy lifestyles by understanding the disease and balancing education, medication, diet, blood glucose monitoring, exercise and activity.
