Vascular Medicine
The Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory, located at
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, uses vascular ultrasound
to provide high quality images of both peripheral
and central arteries and veins.
Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) is used
to image arteries both noninvasively and without
contrast dye.
The ultrafast
CT scanner, or electron beam computed tomography
(EBCT) machine, is used to detect calcification
(plaque buildup) in coronary arteries, particularly
in patients with no symptoms.
