Minimally Invasive Vein Harvesting Program

Minimally invasive vein harvesting for coronary bypass grafting is safe and effective. This procedure allows for less pain and will allow you to return to your normal activities at a faster rate. You may benefit from this procedure if you require coronary bypass grafting and need venous conduits. Unfortunately, not every patient is a candidate for this procedure. The following examples are patients who will not benefit from minimally invasive vein harvesting:

  • patients with a history of vericose veins
  • patients with small or thin legs
  • patients with a superficial saphenous vein

If you are not a candidate for saphenous vein harvesting, you may benefit from arterial conduits for bypass grafting.
