Get a Jump Start on an Exercise Program Before the Holiday Rush

Trips to the mall, holiday parties, office treats and family get-togethers can leave you with extra pounds if you don't take time out for exercise. Getting in your daily exercise might be hard with your hectic holiday schedule, but it's important not to forget about your heart's health.

Walking is a simple, easy way to get in that daily dose of exercise. Take the steps instead of the elevator, park farther away from the mall and set some time out for activities with family or friends.

Keep track of your success with a pedometer. Tag on this gadget before you leave the house to track your steps and aim for 6,000-10,000 steps a day for heart health.
