Penn Cardiac Care Expertise

Penn Cardiac Care electrophysiologists perform more than 4,000 electrophysiology procedures and 250 catheter ablation procedures annually. Our electrophysiologists have more experience than those of any other program in the Philadelphia Region* and can offer the most sophisticated therapy available. Our specialists evaluate and treat all types of arrhythmias, including:

  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Syncope (skipped beats)
  • Supraventricular tachycardias (atrial tachycardia, AV nodal reentry, AV reentrant tachycardia)
  • Atrial flutter and fibrillation
  • Ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation (rapid and/or irregular heartbeat initiated by the ventricle)
  • Sudden cardiac arrest
  • Heart block and other bradyarrhythmias
  • Pacemakers and implantable defibrillators

Our services include:

  • Diagnostic electrophysiology studies
  • ICD and pacemaker implants
  • Ablations (using the latest approved, as well as investigational, equipment available)
  • Tilt table testing
  • Pacemaker and device clinic
  • Transtelephonic arrhythmia monitoring
