Fees and Payment
Cost of Treatment
The cost for the initial intake evaluation is $275. This comprehensive appointment typically lasts 2 to 3 hours and includes a brief consultation with a licensed clinician as well as a thorough diagnostic report.
Thereafter, the cost for each 45 to 50-minute therapy session is $150. Patients have the option of seeing a therapist-in-training for a reduced fee. Payment for each session is required at the time of service.
Patients should make every effort to keep all of their appointments, or to cancel with at least 24 hours notice. Otherwise, patients will be billed $81 for missed sessions. This expense is not covered by insurance.
Phone calls to the therapist are not billed, as long as the calls are brief and infrequent. Calls that cumulatively last more than 15 minutes between sessions are billed as half-sessions, and calls that cumulatively last more than 30 minutes are billed as full sessions. Telephone sessions are not reimbursed by insurance.
If you wish to have sessions that are lengthier than the standard 50 minutes and your therapist can accommodate this request, your bill will be adjusted to reflect the added time. This includes planned sessions as well as sessions that run significantly overtime as a result of unforeseen events.
We recognize that therapy is an expensive endeavor, and we will collaborate with our patients to see that every effort is made to make therapy affordable and time-effective.
Insurance Coverage
Different insurance companies have different guidelines regarding whose professional time they will reimburse, for how many sessions, with what deductibles, for what clinical problems, and within what annual or lifetime limits. Please consult with your insurance company to determine their policies on reimbursement for outpatient psychotherapy.
