Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety
The Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA) at the University
of Pennsylvania is internationally recognized for conducting cutting edge
treatment and research. CTSA is dedicated to developing, refining and testing
state-of-the-art therapies for anxiety and stress disorders. It is also a
center for mental health professionals seeking specialized training in the
treatment of anxiety disorders.
Services
The Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety (CTSA), founded in 1979,
is directed by Edna B. Foa, PhD, a leading expert in anxiety disorders. Clinical
faculty offer treatment programs for the following disorders:
- compulsive hair-pulling
- generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
- obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- panic disorder
- bereavement
- post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- social anxiety disorder
- specific phobias
Clinical Team
The faculty at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety includes Doctoral
level therapists who have extensive experience in the assessment and cognitive-behavioral
treatment of anxiety disorders.
Our faculty collaborate with physicians and
psychiatrists to coordinate medication with cognitive-behavioral techniques.
Faculty members are engaged in a variety of
basic and applied research projects aimed at
improving our understanding and treatment of
anxiety disorders.
