factors. Addiction is a chronic and treatable

Charles O'Brien Center

Center for Cognitive Therapy
The Center for Cognitive Therapy provides an active, directive, problem-focused outpatient therapy for a variety of clinical concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety and panic, life stressors, couple and family discord, and many other issues. Treatment is based on cognitive behavioral therapy model.
Outpatient Psychiatry Center
The Outpatient Psychiatry Center (OPC) of the
Penn Department of Psychiatry offers comprehensive
psychiatric services, including diagnostic evaluations,
psychotherapy service, medication management,
group and couples therapy.
Behavioral
Health Outpatient Center
The Behavioral
Health Outpatient Center at Pennsylvania Hospital
can provide a fresh perspective and offer practical
approaches to better enable individuals or those
they care about to take control of situations
which have had a negative impact on their lives.
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center
Penn Presbyterian offers a comprehensive addiction treatment program, including assessment and both outpatient and inpatient intensive addiction treatment.
Clinical Research Options
In addition to the programs listed above, Penn
also offers patient care programs that require
patients to be enrolled in a clinical trial. Patients
who are eligible to participate in research can
receive treatment at no cost.

Center for Studies of Addiction/Treatment Research
The central focus of the treatment studies is to evaluate the effectiveness of new approaches to treating addictions, including cocaine, nicotine, alcohol, cannabis and opiate dependence.

Tobacco Research Use Center
TTURC conducts studies focusing on different aspects of smoking, genetics, prevention, and treatment. These studies draw upon the expertise of researchers from a variety of disciplines, including psychology, genetics, neuroscience, pharmacology, medicine, epidemiology, communication, and public policy.
