Surgery Preparation
 Prior
to surgery, patients undergo surgical, medical,
nutritional and psychological screenings. Each
patient will also attend a preoperative nutrition
class, which provides the patient with extensive
diet education.
 If
the patient desires to pursue surgery following
the necessary screenings and is deemed a suitable
candidate for bariatric surgery, a surgery date
will be assigned once insurance approval is obtained.
 Following
the initial screening, patients must undergo a
series of medical tests, medical clearance, and
cardiac clearance, if necessary. It is recommended
that patients begin this process immediately after
the initial screening.
