Program Follow-up

Gastric Bypass / Vertical Banded Gastroplasty

On post-op day 10 the trocar sites are examinedOngoing patient care is an import part of our program. Following surgery, patients return for follow-up appointments. These appointments are scheduled:

10 to 14 days following surgery
At this appointment, patients will have their JP drain removed. They will also meet with their nurse or physician and with their dietician.

Six to eight weeks following surgery
During this appointment, patients will meet with their nurse or physician and will have a consultation with the dietician.

Six months and one year following surgery
Patients will continue to meet with their nurse or physician to monitor their progress. Additionally, the program dietician will continue to meet with patients.


LapBand

7 to 10 days following surgery
At this appointment, patients will have their surgical incisions checked. They will also meet with their nurse or physician and with their dietician to review oral intake and diet progression. No adjustment at this visit.

Every Six weeks following surgery
During this appointment, patients will meet with their nurse or physician and will have a consultation with the dietician, to monitor diet intake and discuss potential need for adjustment to band. If needed, an follow up appointment for an adjustment will be scheduled

Six months and one year following surgery
Patients will continue to meet with their nurse or physician to monitor their progress. Additionally, the program dietician will continue to meet with patients.
